"All great Fortresses have to start somewhere."
~on the Excavation Of Rakust Dosîm.

When works began on the Fortress, the first main antechamber was dug. Unfortunately, the mountain had festered long since any Dwarf had ventured into it. With the help of the townsfolk, a ritual was prepared to summon the evil force that had darkened the mountain.

The Elf Mkoll was the one to head the ritual, summoning a powerful and evil spirit. With everyone armed, it was destroyed, with a single casualty; Markus Ironshell. He was lauded as a hero and statues were erected in his honour.

During a test of explosives to help with the excavation, a Forgotten Beast was lured from the depths of the earth. A huge bull worm, named Kraztar by the townsfolk, burst through the antechamber and across the bridge into the town. A handful of people in the area, managed to subdue the beast and chop it into many pieces, but not before it had done significant damage to them as well. Thankfully, no fatalities were incurred.

After this, the Fortress history becomes one of toil and work. The tiers and chambers we dug out by hand, mostly by the head architect, but with some help from others when asked.

As the Fortress expanded, many smaller discoveries were made that would all piece together in time. Magma pools and pockets of gas were discovered in the stone, filled with sapient creatures; living blobs of tar, vicious gas clouds and other strange beasts.

As more rooms were dug out, a large ravine was discovered. After some small exploration, the body of a God, Rezeph, was found at the very bottom of it. Being struck with awe of the divine corpse, Drakk Blackhand made it his personal mission to finance any attempt to discover more about the Dwarves living in the area and the missing Fortress of Kulsim Emen.
